Resolution Urging Expulsion Of Rep Ilhan Omar From Congress Passed By Alabama Republican Party Executive Committee ~ illicit info

Speculation, Opinion and Analysis of Kirsters B| The Republican Party of Alabama is pushing lawmakers to have Representative Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, removed from her position in Congress following numerous controversial statements from the Democrat.

Among those comments were negative remarks about Israel, as well as her support for economic boycotts against the country.

A resolution was passed by the state’s GOP during the Republican Party’s Auburn summer meeting last weekend during which they called on their congressional delegation to “proceed with the expulsion process” against the congresswoman.

“Representative Omar has engaged in rhetoric that explicitly runs counter to American values and patriotism by falsely accusing U.S. armed forces of committing war crimes while on mission to liberate her home country of Somalia,” the resolution read.

The resolution also said that the Democratic congresswoman “dismissed the 9/11 terror attacks waged by radical Islam” and “sympathized with a convicted terrorist” when she advocated for “sentencing leniency.”

State Representative Tommy Hanes was the one to introduce the resolution. Once introduced, the resolution was approved on a “voice vote.” The Alabama Political Reporter explains that one Republican was opposed to the resolution.

The first-term congresswoman has been the center of criticism from both sides of the political aisle after her frequent anti-Semitic comments.

Alabama Republicans mentioned “a disturbing record of using anti-Semitic language that includes alleging Jewish money is used to buy American influence regarding its policy toward Israel.

According to Fox News, the resolution “mentioned Omar’s support for the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement that has aimed to put economic pressure on Israel to address its treatment of Palestinians.” Fox reports, “Omar, a Somali refugee who became one of the first two Muslim women elected to Congress last year along with Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., was blocked from entering Israel, as was Tlaib, over their support for the boycotts.”

Last month she tweeted, “I am where I belong, at the people’s house and you’re just gonna have to deal!”

Fox News requested comment on the new petition from both Omar and the Alabama Republican Party, but neither have responded.
