Package Explodes At Phoenix Post Office, Workers Hit By Chemical

Authorities have responded to a situation at a Phoenix Post Office where a package has exploded and caused workers to be exposed to chemicals.

Fire Capt. Danny Gile said fire and hazardous materials crews have responded to the scene and workers have been taken to the hospital, CBS Austin reported.

On Saturday morning there was a chemical spill at a Maryvale-area post office in Phoenix, the Phoenix Fire Department reported.

The post office workers told authorities that a package exploded and spilled a mysterious chemical substance that three employees were exposed to.

Phoenix FD says the employees who were exposed to the chemical substance are in stable condition right now.

In addition to the Phoenix Police Department, hazardous material crews are on scene investigating the unknown chemical.
